Coronavirus COVID-19

At IMS, the safety and security of our employees and the customers they serve is our utmost priority.  We are closely monitoring the rapidly evolving outbreak of the COVID-19 and following guidance from Health Canada to ensure worker safety while continuing to build, install and maintain the telecommunications networks that supply essential communication access (Internet, TV and Telephony) and information services on behalf of our customers.

Everyone's health and safety is important to us. To ensure business continuity for customers we have increased measures to ensure IMS office locations and remote work sites are a safe place for all of our employees. We are committed to meeting or exceeding the government's guidance during this crisis as the health and safety of our customers and employees remains our top priority.

Supporting Our Employees

It is imperative that we take care of our employees and the communities they work in. We’ve taken actions to reduce the need for people to come into our offices and reduced direct customer interactions. At the same time, we know that customers rely on services that we install and repair, we are committed to keeping customers connected as long as we can do so safely for them and our employees. Because certain jobs can only be done onsite—additional precautions have been taken to ensure employee and customer safety.

Personal travel

Aligning with the federal government advisory for travellers returning from international destinations, including from the United States, IMS is requiring all employees, contractors and service providers who have returned from a trip outside Canada after midnight on Friday March 13 to self-isolate and remain at home for the next 14 days. Also follow the government’s advisory to avoid all non-essential travel outside Canada until further notice.

Self-Isolation

If staff experience any of these situations, are not to report to work at a IMS location and self- isolate at home for the next 14 days:

You (or someone in your house) has travelled outside of Canada post March 13th

You are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, difficulty breathing)

You have come into close contact with a colleague, customer or family presenting symptoms consistent with COVID-19

You are confirmed to have COVID-19 or are awaiting COVID-19 test results

Our Team

We are equipped to maintain the high-quality customer service you have come to expect from us. We are regularly updating our employees on the situation and on the necessary precautions to take to ensure their safety and those of the customers we serve.

Commitment

We are continuously evaluating the situation, monitoring any impacts to the businesses we serve and communicating alternative plans where necessary. We are taking the appropriate actions to continue providing our employees a safe and healthy working environment. We remain committed to providing the quality service that our customers have come to expect from us.

Health Tips

Practicing good health hygiene is the best way to reduce risk and guard against illness.

• Social Distancing, keeping 2 meters from others at all times

• Staying up to date with daily safety updates.

• Keep your hands away from your eyes, nose or mouth.

• Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, including between your fingers, under your fingernails and your wrists. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your elbow or sleeve, being sure to cover your mouth. Put used tissues in the garbage and then wash your hands or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

•Do not share personal items.
