Summary
We are seeking, self-motivated, customer service focused individuals to be part of our team for the position of Cable Service Field Technician.
This position entails working indoors and outdoors, operating independently and providing quality customer service. Includes the installation, activation and repair of telecommunications service to the end user/customer. Liaison with customers, installing, activating or repairing associated telecommunications equipment such as Set-top boxes, modems, Wi-Fi, splitters, aerial and underground service wires to facilitate connectivity to the customer.
Full Paid Training is provided during training period.
Responsibilities
Drive to and from residential and small business customer locations in a defined geographic area performing installation and repair services on behalf of our client’s appointment bookings.
Receive and complete client issued work orders in a timely manner.
Operate equipment and vehicle in a safe manner, ensuring adherence to company and clients safety program.
Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner to ensure that their work orders are completed as requested.
Provide a high level of customer service ensuring that any escalations or concerns are addressed professionally.
Assess and test RF and/or Wi-Fi signal levels in accordance with client set parameters Troubleshoot technical issues.
Working in tight spaces (attics and crawl spaces) and working at heights (climbing ladders).
Safe use of basic hand tools, Radio Frequency Meters, TDR’s and Multi Meters (Volt Meters), Cordless Drills, hand tools etc.
Work indoors and outdoors at the customer location.
Work on PC computer and various software applications.
Requirements
Previous experience installing and repairing CATV, Internet, Alarms and phones.
Previous work experience in telecom installation and repair would be an asset
Previous experience in Customer Service
Ability to manage a physically demanding position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, working at heights, define colours and in confined spaces.
Able to handle multiple computer applications, operation systems and test equipment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
A positive attitude and customer focused approach.
Self-Motivated, ability to prioritize and organize work with little direction.
Maintain a valid Class G Ontario driver’s license and provide a clean driver’s abstract annually.
Successful completion of a criminal background check.
Physical Demands
Must be able to perform the physical demands of the position. These include but are not limited to working outdoors and in confined spaces, movement of equipment and/or materials, frequent climbing of ladders, frequent lifting and pulling of telecommunication cable and Conduit lift in excess of 70 lbs. Stand for extended periods of time.
